Winter Events

Happy Holiday Craft Night
Boys and Girls, ages 5-10* will enjoy creating two holiday or winter themed crafts just in time to give out for presents.  

Craft Night Schedule: Monday, December 7th, 2009-6:00-7:30 p.m.
Cost: $4.00/resident, $5.00/non-resident (a small snack and drink are included)
Registration: November 6-November 30

*Five and six year olds must be accompanied by a parent.

Dinner with Santa
Santa will be making an early appearance at the DeWitt Township Community Center to ask our local youngsters
what they would like for Christmas.  This program is open to boys and girls of all ages!  All kids will receive an early Christmas present as part of their visit with Santa.  Dinner will consist of spaghetti, salad, roll, beverage and dessert.

Dinner with Santa: Monday, December 21, 2009 
Session Times: Session 1-5:15-6:15 p.m.                    Session 2-6:30-7:30 p.m.
Cost:

Resident:  $6.00/child $2.00/adult

Non-Resident:  $8.00/child  $3.00/adult

Registration: November 6-December 11

Super Bowl Party Shootout
Two person teams (one adult-18 years + and one child-ages 6-15) will compete in a free throw
shooting contest to win a Super Bowl Party feast for their friends and family.  Age groups will be
divided as follows:  6-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years and 13-15 years.  This event is free and DARA will be accepting canned food donations for the St. Jude Food Pantry.  Pre-registration is accepted but not required as teams may register at the event.  The event will begin at 2:00pm sharp.

Schedule: January 30, 2010 - Date Changed!!
Cost: Free-age division winners will receive a Super Bowl Party Feast for their friends and family.  Canned food donations will be accepted for the St. Jude Food Pantry.
Registration: January 8-29, 2010

Bubble Party
Boys and girls, ages 3-8, are invited to check out the wild world of bubbles.  Make tiny, large and even frozen bubbles.  Participants will be able to make and experience a variety of bubbles at multiple bubble stations.

Spring Events

Clutter to Cash-Kids Indoor Yard Sale

Turn your old junk into money in your pocket.  Be a young business person and sell your used video games, sports equipment, clothes, and toys, etc. at the DeWitt Township Community Center and make a little money while you do it.  You might even spot something you want to buy too!

 

Location: DeWitt Township Community Center
Schedule: April 17, 2010  9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Cost: $10.00 for 8' x 16' booth
Registration: begins March 5, 2010

 

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Bunny will be making an annual visit to the Granger Meadows Park Sledding Hill the weekend before Easter for the Easter Egg Hunt.  The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all kids, ages 1-10.  All kids should bring a basket for collecting eggs.

Location: Granger Meadows Park Sledding Hill (weather permitting)  or  DeWitt Township Community Center (in case of inclement weather)
Schedule: March 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. (please be prompt)
Cost: Free
Registration: No registration required

Drop Your Kids Off
Drop your kids, ages 5-12, off at the DeWitt Township Community Center for
a Friday evening or all day during a day off school.  Kids will play games, complete arts
and craft projects, watch a movie and have dinner or lunch (depending on evening or all day session). 

Drop your kids off sessions are available many times throughout the year and pre-registration
is required at least one week in advance.  Spring Drop Your Kids Off nights are scheduled for
March 19, 2010 and April 23, 2010.  All Day Drop Your Kids Off dates are scheduled for March 12, 2010. 

Cost:          Night Session - $15.00/child or $25.00/two children

                 All Day Session - $25.00/child or $40.00/two children

Summer Events

Walk Michigan
Join DARA this summer and walk your way to fitness.  Walk Michigan is a state wide
program designed to get people out walking in their communities and around the state.
2010 dates are not yet available.

for a Friday evening or all day during a day off school.  Kids will play games, complete arts and craft
projects, watch a movie and have dinner or lunch (depending on evening or all day session). 

Drop your kids off sessions are available many times throughout the year and pre-registration

Fall Drop Your Kids Off Nights will be held on September 25, October 16, November 13, and December 11, 2009.  

Cost:          Night Session - $15.00/child and $10.00/each additional child

                 All Day Session - $25.00/child and $15.00/each additional child

Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt
Boys and Girls, ages 3-10, will enjoy an evening of games, goody bags, hot dogs and cider, and a nighttime pumpkin hunt at Valley Farms Park.  Be sure to bring a flashlight, and costumes are encouraged.

Please register early.  There are two separate age groups for the hunt (3-6 and 7-10 year olds).  Registration is open to the first 30 participants per age group.
